    No.4 MK.1 Foresight Base Removal

    Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to remove foresight base on my rifle and it seems to want to resist my efforts. If
there are any suggestions to make it easier I would appreciate them.Perhaps someone could
point me towards a FAQ section.
    Thank You, Mike

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. drive out the little tapered pin and use a brass drift to slide the block band foresight forwards, off the barrel. On the other hand, it could well be that the block band has been slightly loose in the past and has been sweated in place on the corresponding lugs. So try a bit of heat before you start getting tooooooo enthusiastic with the brass drift and hammer
