Churchill/Parker Hale would have fitted a sporting ramp foresight to the barrel originally, so most likely someone has either made their own sporter by attaching a set of Churchill wood to a No4 Mk1 action, or its a Churchill gun thats been re-barrelled.
Do I remember seeing adverts for these sporters that showed two versions. The deluxe version with the bog standard foresight block (with or without the foresight protector) and a super de-luxe version with a ramp foresight? Or am I getting them confused with something else?
I must thank everyone who contributed to the research. I am not 100% sure on what a bog standard foresight is but willing to learn. As near as I can tell it looks like a blade type front sight with a protector. What searching I have done it looks like the military sights but without the bayonet lug, the barrel has been milled and the rifling looks excellent. The rear sight bridge is still there but the rifle has been drilled for scope mounts, a weaver one piece was on it when I got it. The fit and finish is excellent, sorry the photos were not any clearer. looking forward to hearing some more.

I looked at a Parker Hale export catalogue from 1973.
They show 4 versions of .303 sporters.
"Custom" Based on SMLE action, charger bridge removed, drilled and tapped for scope, 22" barrel with bead foresight and express type rear sights. 5 round mag. Monte Carlo butt.
"Supreme" No 4 action, same scope mount system as Enforcer. 22" barrel, 5 round magazine. Ramp foresight .Monte Carlo butt.
"De Luxe" No 4 action, 22" barrel, ramp foresight, drilled & tapped for scope, 5 round mag. Military type butt.
"Standard" No 4 action, 24" barrel, military sights front & rear, 10 round mag, military type butt.
Thanks for that Max. Tyrone, BOG STANDARD = as issued. Military type foresight block band and protectors! Or now commonly used, Bog Standard = STANAG = standard NATO agreement = 'could be better with a bit of thought.......'
Thanks for the info, I measured the barrel I get 23" without the threads with the standard markings. If I had to guess, it would be the standard model that Maxwell smart was referring to. If I find any more markings I will post them.
The front sight in the picture looks like a hooded sight, mine has a front blade with protectors on both side but open on top. The adjustment for the front looks like a backwards flat blade screwdriver.
