Unusual Government Model

These pics are of a 1927 production Colt Government Model. Do you see anything unusual about it?

That happened occasionally on the 1911A1, but never seen a Government Model with that mistake.

I'd love to have one with that. Quite unusual I'd say. Just a mistake in machining.

Correct. Only the right side has the 1911A1 trigger clearance cut.

Seems to me I read an article with photos some time ago about a Colt .32 Auto that had the grasping grooves on back ward and how it managed to elude numerous inspectors. I presume because of multiple station machining this stuff happened. Nice find.

Like Johnny, I've not seen a commercial Govt. Model missing the finger cut-out, but here are a couple 1943 military M1911A1 pistols the same way. I've seen a few other military A1s the same way. One was a relatively early Remington Rand that sold 2-3 years ago.

These must the special right-hand only models I've heard about.

Yeah, wasn't everyone supposed to be right handed? I had a boss that said his catholic teachers forced him to be right handed as a school kid. He'd try to write with his left hand and they'd smack him with a ruler. It's funny how many ruler stories you hear about Catholic schools. Or maybe it's just me.
