Thanks Bob, You have me thinking and researching. Doesn't a P in that font and place indicate a re-build ?. What marks are in the barrel channel ? I wish I owned it, nice. Saw one just like it not long ago but the P was in a circle at the very rear of the stock Mike.

Good eye Mikey, the stock has been through a rebuild. It has the circled P at the rear and arsenal stamp on the left rear side. It has also been cut down to a low wood. IO is marked in the channel as expected. The barreled receiver was matched to the stock by me using an early 6 digit Inland. I figured if the CMPicon can do it, why can't I?

Bob K: I noticed that the photobucket titles for the pictures include the words "IrwinPedersen/m1a1." Is that just a folder title, or did the stock have an IP action in it before? - Thanks, Bob

Bob, IrwinPedersen is the user name that I use for my photobucket account. This M1A1icon stock has a six digit Inland put in it by me. The Inland came with an I-cut highwood stock, but some previuos owner decided he liked a checkered stock and started carving an outline on both sides of the stock, but never completed the checkering. I think it looks better in this stock.
The funny thing is, and I didn't realize it until you posted, is that I have an IP in an I-cut highwood stock that I haven't made up a folder for except for a couple pictures of the stock markings. Guess I'll have to work on it. I just wish my photography skills were better.

I think everyone on the forum would like to see that IP. One thing you could do about the photography is just have the guy who took the pictures of the M1A1icon do it for you! His work looks pretty good to me. - Bob

Thanks for the compliment Bob. I'm just not happy with all the shadows, color differences and the number of pictures I have to take to get one good picture. I probably delete 2 or 3 bad pics for every good pic....gets very time consuming; which I don't have enough of to begin with.
