    51 inches long, 6 inches more than regular? No visible markings. Sniper sling? Bren? Cheers, Don

    Just a guess, but I reckon it is a range sling used by a shooter who used the sling for support whilst shooting and didn't want it loosening up. So, he had the extra webbing bits sewn on to act as stop blocks for the hooks.

    IIRC Belgian or Danishicon sling, as used on SAFN rifle.

    It is Belgian. The cross pieces are to keep the sling from loosening while gun is being carried.
