    It's my renewal time

It's that time of year for me. Time to renew my donation to Milsurps.

I like that this site is offered at no charge to anyone who drops in. But as we all know the operators must have expenses for upkeep, new additions, and the like. I have never read about them. I never see any kind of solicitation for anyone to donate. A few years ago I just noticed a small box at the upper right of the page. I clicked on it and a drop down appeared. It has boxes to check. $25 for a single year, up to $100 for 5 years.

Thinking about it, I figured I come here and read 5 or 6 different forums. Anything from the M1icon Carbine to Edged Weapons with a few in between. Probably at least an hour a day. I have learned a lot about different weapons and my favorite weapon. Seen pictures others posted I wouldn't find anywhere else. I have used the want to sell/buy page because it attracts guys with like interests. Made some good money and bought some nice items. I have met guys I now concider good friends. In the three years I have been coming here I have made over 1600 posts. How many hours of entertainment was that?

Being retired and now on a fixed income, as I know a lot of us are, it was still a no brainer for me. A $25 donation for a year means 6.8¢ a day. I can find that many pennies on the ground each day when I look. I'm in heaven when I find a dime.
$25 is taking my wife one time to the afternoon movies with a soda and popcorn. A two hour event. Or maybe a pizza dinner without the beer.

I found out beside your name standing out in a different color, you get a few other perks. The one I like best is no adds poping up.

I like coming here. I also think I might have withdrawals if it were to go away. For all those reasons I feel I need to help out, as little as it may be.

OK, I'm going off my soapbox to make my nominal donation and get on to more reading.

Just renewed mine about a week ago and agree it is money well spent. I know money is tight especially for anyone on a fixed income but it does drive me crazy that more won't help by paying just a little. this is the most informative site on military everything IMO.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
