    Markings and butt plate.....on a Mk.1

Years ago I stripped down an old junker Mk.1 and recently found the barreled action and now the wood that was in "the shed" (tm). Going to find the few remaining parts I need and put it back together. I do hope the stock markings are what I think they are. What say you from down under???
The butt stock still had the original trapless steel butt plate.

Agree...the style and location is consistent with Australian Light Horse markings that have shown up from time to time.
