I have a NZicon 03 3005000 S/N range with a four didgit NZ number on the right side of the Butt stock. Rifle is in near pristine condition. Has all the early attributes including small hole bolt and does have a Hatcher hole.

Question NZ Lend Lease contract Info..

Somewhat helpful but not specific..my research continues...

    Lend-Lease | NZETC

Keep reading the link by clicking on the "next section" button..it get a bit boring but tidbits are in there that are helpfull. Click down and read pages 135 thru 137 and pages 145 & 146. My eyes are watering so this is enough for tonight.

In 12/41 Remington had packed 1903's for shipment to Englandicon and these were at New York for shipment when Pearl Harbor was attacked. The shipments were held and these rifles were later shipped to NZ.That being the case these rifles had to have been very low serial #'ed Remington 1903's.

Your source is in error. Remington had no rifles packed and ready for shipment on 7 December 1941.

By the serial ranges I have encountered, I would agree. More like mid-1942, I would guess.

Looks like it to me - nice grain on the stock!
