Unfortunatly I have'nt tested it yet.
I live in Milan and the local range has only 50 meters for .22"LR lines.
I should go to a range outside town, I wonder if barrel break in is needed first.

    I don't know, but I don't suppose it couldn't hurt.

How long is the range you have outside of town?

Edit: Meant to say "couldn't hurt".

It is up to 300 meters. I generally go there and shoot with my Remington 700 Police at that distance.

You should be able to do very well at that distance with that set-up. What magnification is that Nightforce?

We've got a 500m range here and it's only 10 minutes from my house. I've been shooting my XCR in 7.62x39 out to 500m recently. It does pretty well considering the cheap surplus Czechicon ammo I'm using.

That's a really nice scope. A friend has one on his 700 and I've shot it a few times.

Yes, it's S&B that I'm shooting. I think the crate I'm working through right now is dated 1969.

S&B military ammos are not bad at all.
I am using quite a lot of them cal. .223"Rem with my Bushmaster M4 16".
They come in a box of 140 rounds at about $US 80
I have two 7.62x39 AK-47 style and for them I use cheaper Barnaul or Wolf when I can't get Barnaul.

For any other caliber, .308"Win and 30-06 I prefer to reload my rounds so that I can calibrate powder grains, chose the bullet weight and brand etc etc.

    As for my 700 .308"Win I chose a Sightron SIII SS 8-32x56 LR TD/TDT
Sightron Riflescopes / Binoculars / Sighting Scopes product pages. SIII Series - SIII SS 8-32X56 LR TD/TDT
since I would like to try it at 700 meters in a long distance range which is unfortunatly very far from here.
