    Holy Grail

Have to be a Mk VI - but how many are there? Then more possible a No 7 (have an No 8 and it is great, but a magazine would be better) and maybe a good Paki .308 No 4.

    Hello

My current holly grail is a No6. However in my ideal world I would be greedy and also want a No3T and a No1T to go with what I already have.

    Regards Chris...

    Real Name
    Ross
Already found it, When a young bloke, an old fella in the Coolgardie rifle club decided us young fellas needed to shoot a service match and so we trooped 300 miles to the wheat belt to get ammo from a old target shooter in Dowrin.A passing mention of my need for a SMLE brought forth a wheat bag from which was drawn a greasy stick that on closer examination proved to be a 42 lithgow covered in grease. It was mine for eighty dollars and I slept with it for at least a week.It seems that because the rifle clubs had their rifles taken at the outbreak of the war they could get a case of five for a quid after the war ended and this rifle I got was the last of a couple of cases the Dowrin rc had got.The rifle still shoots ok though the bore has fired a lot of rounds and at 600 yds the group gets a little bigger when it warms up.Shot a couple of possibles with it . So a newish SMLE is the grail for me! Cheers Ross

$275.00 WOW! That's an amazing price! I've seen two for sale recently, miss-matched, asking $900.00CDN.

Yes, the guy was selling it for a friend. I could not buy it since I do not have a TX DL or am not stationed (on orders) there, qite a bummer. Also foumd a sporterized on that had a Williams SM70 sight and a nice Bushnell scope, the guy said the owner used it for hunting. The guy had it customized for hos body, and this guy must have been the size of Bigfoot! I lile a long pull of 13-14 inches, this was at least 15.

For me it has to be a No1 Mk6. I know where there is one but it is NOT for sale unfortunately.

    Holy Grail

I am fortunate to have recently picked up the enfields I regard as my Holy Grail (for now) -

A No7 Mk1, an Enforcer and a 1918 Lithgowicon No1 Mk3. All 3 rifles shoot really well and produce a stupid grin every time.

Of course I still have a little bit of room in the cabinets, and if I can just persuade the missus to let me discuss getting a No4T or L42a1 with my feo I`d be as happy as the preverbial pig in muck.......

At the moment? My grandfather's 1918 No.1 MkIII, Dad has it stashed away in his safe along with an unused surplus heavy barrel.
Later on, I want to get my hands on good, shootable examples of a Lee-Metford, a No.4 MkI (T) and a No.5 MkI.
