    I'm such a wuss......

I was able get to the range for a couple hours yesterday with my recently acquired 1943 1903a3 (Remington) and each time I pulled the trigger two thoughts occurred to me.
    1. I am such a wuss....these 30.06 rounds are beating me up...I need to get some kind of recoil pad ( any suggestions?) and,
    2. I thought about the men who carried this great rifle through two world wars and fired hundreds if not thousands of rounds fighting evil and defending freedom. So on this Memorial Day I say thank you to those who gave the last full measure of devotion, and to the ones that daily put themselves in harm’s way.

Personally I have a PAST and find it very good. Reasonably priced and being old find it very handy.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Is it wearable or does it affix to the end of the stock? I have four "old men" ( the 03a3, an 8mm Mauser, a Mosin, and a type 38 Arisakaicon ). I plan on adding an Enfield soon and.......well .......whatever else I can get my hands on so I wanted to avoid buying a recoil pad for each rifle. Hoped to buy one and be done.

I have a PAST that I use occasionally. It works but depending on what I'm wearing it shifts around on me. The one I have that I prefer is one that slips onto the end of the stock and is secured with a velcro flap. I think I got it from Midway-usa. It is made by pachmyr. I too suffer from milsurp beatings on occasion. I think it is due to my getting a little sloppy on my form and the old muscles aren't as firm and muscular as when I was 20.

I share your sentiments as I am sure all those who share our interest in military surplus arms do. I watched Band of Brothers for the ??? time today made me feel a bit soft. May God bless them all!

Had a friend of a friend bring out his bolt gun , a side by side rifle , and a Ruger #1 for us to shoot last 4th of July.
    .416 Rigby , 9.3 x 74 R , and .375 H&H .
Then I did some rifle grenades off of the M1icon Garand.
    My 1903s , 1917s , & M1s with M2 spec. ball just don't seem to kick much now days .
    Chris
