A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I have a new Stag A2 butt, first time I opened the trap door the latch launched into low earth orbit First time I've seen that. I bought it from Rainier Arms and they sent me a new door assembly with out question. The stock body is pretty nice, the butt plate fit could be better. The body has the solid yellow expanded foam as a filler.

I have a new ArmaLite take off from a AR-10, same stock as a AR-15. This has a nice fit but you can see minor changes in color flow, it's OD green. This has a white nylon storage compartment and the rest appears hollow, not 100% sure as I haven't removed the compartment.

On both you can see and feel a line where the body leaves the RE section of the stock.

Neither is near as nice as my old A1's.

Rock River Arms makes a nice A2 stock assembly, so does Bravo Company.
