Sears 30-30

Have a Sears 30-30 that is very, very hard to chamber and when trying to open the bolt as well . Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Probably just needs a good cleaning, including the chamber, and a little oil.

sears 30 30....more infor is needed, sears didnt make it..someone else did, and sears put the name on it..Winchester, Mossberg, Savage ect..bolt, lever, single shot??

Most likely it was made by Winchester.

If you tell us what model number is on the barrel we can look it up and help. Otherwise we're guessing...

But why bother? He hasn't been back on site since posting. In June.

And it's not even military.

My fault. I should have and normally do go look to see when that was. I can't imagine dredging something like that up from the dead files in the first place. I thought it had just appeared.
