    1942 COLT M1911A1 pics

Thought I would try to wake up this section with this stunning 42 Colt that is in near new condition. Came with WW1 holster and two mags, one WW2 CR marked and a two tone L marked WW1 contract.

That's a nice one to wake up to. We can only be grateful that a few survived in such exceptional condition. It couldn't have looked much better when it left Colt a few days past 70 years ago.

I will pass on the "how does she shoot?".

and I'll spare you the 'how much is it worth".
The parkerizing still has the sparkling bits seen only on very new guns. Whats amazing is that the pistol had NO oil inside or out, it was completely dry. It must have sat in a completly dry area untouched for many years.

Looks good, Mike. I'll look forward to seeing that one, too. I'm just glad it ended up with someone who appreciates it and won't turn it into a shooter.

Hate to say it , but even I prob'ly would not try her out .
Very nice does not do it justice . If it were mine I'd have to sell it to get rid of the temptation.
