Anyone know if you can buy 8x57I Ammo? I just aquired an 1895 Spanish carbine re-barrled in 8mm

It's the older .318 bore? When were they re-barreled.

Here is 8mm JRS Rimmed:
8x57mm JRS (8mm Rimmed Mauser) | Rifle Ammunition | Ammunition -MidwayUSA
8mm Rimmed J Mauser:
8x57mm Rimmed J Mauser | Rifle Ammunition | Ammunition -MidwayUSA
Hope this helps, there are several other mauser variants in 8mm as well as 7 and some 6.5 swede, etc. All of those are also non-corrosive. Midway has a lot of ammo as does cheaper than dirt.
Sorry, just noticed the I, I had a friend who found some at a gun show in Texas...might try that...I feel smart

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.
