1941 Parkerized Colt M1911A1 with W.B. final inspection

All original and pretty nice condition. There were only about 6000 1941 W.B. inspected Colt M1911A1 pistols.

    Hi Scott

Is there any knowledge of why the earlier parkerized pistols are lighter in color? Could it be a different supplier of the finish solutions? Just wondering if anyone knows what occured after 800,000 or so when they got darker?

I don't know of any mention in the Colt records, but obviously something changed about s/n 810000. The color changed multiple times during production.
