I'm guessing he means a PH5E4 rear sight and not a PH5A

Shame he put the 'wrong' bipod on - the early ones had the 'skiny leg' PH bipod - it was the later numbers that had the standard leg bipod..
Add £300-£500 for the correct scope and rings and you've got a relatively cheap Enforcer.

Yes - it is / was a D&C rifle.
The D&C Police force told me that it was force policy not to sell firearms and that all of their rifles (including No175) were guillotined.

That makes seven ex D&C Enforcers I know of.

Interesting Enforcer. Has the later style lathe turned barrel. Butt is walnut....should it not be "beech" to match forend. Wonder if the the wood is numbered?

Many of the Police Enforcers taken out of service were torn down and certified "Destoryed". Parts were often part payment for doing the work. Barrels and receivers were to be destoryed however some of these ended up in private hands. A chap in the UK ....can't remember the name.....purchased and sold reassembled Enforcers and other rare Enfield that sufferred the same fate.

Both the barrel and action apear to be dated '73

I see it's been recently reproofed in London.

The barrel date would appear beneath the handguard. The info on the muzzle end of the barrel is standard on all Enforcers. Current proofing.....don't know why this would be done except a rebarrel.

I assume these barrels were not hammer-forged like the earlier CR1470(?) barrels? If so, why was that?

Were they perhaps made elsewhere?
