I don't know why I even ask. I'm totally jealous. Hehehhehe. Nice rifles!!!!
I'm mainly jealous of the wood. Mine is beat and I'm not sure I want to spring for a boyds, they're so fat. And I have enough stuff to want. I got the shaft on my stock from the CMP
though. Also, my receiver looks green compared to everyone elses.

One kick and that stack would crumble... and you would be doing pushups all day. All the toes of the stocks should be pointing out, locking the tops of the rifles together.

No, look at the light one, it's sideways. Note the difference between it and the two darker ones at the top. The sight should clamp to the barrel when you pull the heels of the stocks toward the outside. I'm just trying to save you a chewing from the DI. LOL

Those last two pictures were from the Marine Corps Drill and Ceremonies Manual, in the interest of education I know I'd appreciate a good close-up photo of one that would keep the DI looking elsewhere. It was damn hard to get them holding together in my basement with by myself, if those Marines in the second post are in need of a refresher then I've got some PT time in the future.

Manuals
Manuals are notoriously bad for photos, the people making them don't usually know the item or subject. In addition, they are often very early -- I've even seen manuals with commercial illustrations. One NM manual has an arrow and label pointing to the wrong part.
If you twist the light rifle in the photo so that the toe is on the radius from the center, the sight will contact the barrel. Then pull it outward until the sight locks over the barrel. Making a stack by yourself is hard, SOP is three people.

heres something you have to know if you dont know it yet if you look at your rifles moveing parts you will see some wear on the metal.what you need to buy is lubriplate it is the same grease as the gun is made for,it dosen't need gun oil it needs grease for it to function like its supposed too..To me M1s are one of the best rifles you can buy they are just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L weapons.If you just look up everything you need to know about about them you will most likely not have any problems..
