    I lovr my BREN

I took my Monotype BREN Mk2 to the range for a night shoot. I also took 200 rounds of tracer. The bren had hardly any flash which I was surprised about. The easiest way to describe the flash would be like an orange cotton ball stuck in the flash hider. Other guns had lots of muzzle flash, some of the Russianicon ones were almost like flame throwers. The tracer was great I loaded just tracer for a few mags and had some nice red blobs bouncing off the berm.
Thats all (no problem) just wanted to express my enjoyment of firing such a fine gun

Funny that you comment on the apparent lack of flash Mr E. At one of the camps at Ipoh, we had a 5 or 6 firing point x 50 yard range that was cut into jungle. The jungle canopy was literally covering the range except for the butts area that was kept clear. It made it a bit dark, green and spooky and totally useless except for function testing in my opinion. When we used to fire Brens in there, both .303 and 7.62's, a burst - or several long bursts of bren fire (we were only young lads don't forget and ammo was cheap.......) would light up the whole range so that it looked like something with a bright green haze/tint from a night vision sight or camera. Awe inspiring to see...... truly devastating if you were looking at it from the wrong end!

I have an Ingles MkI* Bren and it is my favorite LMG. I was lucky and stored up on 303 milsurp ammo before it vanished. But I still load 303 with 7.62 projos. Just have to change the expansion ball to 30 caliber. Accuracy is not that much different than the 311 projo's. Keeping the Greek milsurp in reserve.

Sounds like you're really enjoying your BREN.

I just found the last thing I needed to start my semi-auto build. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can get started.

I will post some pictures of the build if that's ok?
