    M24/47 at Cabelas

Looked at an M24/47 at Cabelas today. Figured it was overpriced at $299 unless something drastic has happened recently. Bore looked good, had matching numbers but the base plate had two previous numbers, one nearly washed out and the second lined through. Stock could use a good cleaning but didn't look bad, probably sanded down at the arsenal. Numbers on stock looked original, no sign of being re-stamped. If you're interested, it's there at Hamburg. If it is not overpriced, please advise. I could get this one for points. Not really all that interested in it as I have a nice M48.

I saw that they had some Mitchell's M24/47s in my local Cabelas - stocks aggressively sanded smooth, but stains still present on the wood, for $399 ($369 with a voucher). I would not be interested, even if I hadn't just picked up a M48B with a bayonet, ammo pouches and cleaning kit for $250.
