Thanks for the feedback guys ...

The "out of memory" error appears to be caused by poor memory handling, or what's termed "leaky memory" by the user's own browser. Besides IE6 which is 10 years old and a serious security problem if you're using it, IE8 (Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 8) suffers from a lot of memory handling issues. We obviously have members who are using that browser and it explains the "out of memory" error and "stack overflow" error a small group of you are seeing. Microsoft fixed the memory problems in IE9 (Version 9), but unfortunately it only runs on their Windows 7 (and 8) operating systems.

We have 20,000+ members and about a 1,000 logging in every 24 hours. The new on-line one-to-one "Messenger Chat System" with its built-in audio/video, file sending, auto language translation and a host of other features, will add a lot of functionality for everyone.

For those of you who want to continue to use IE8 and can't upgrade to IE9 because you're still using an older version of Windows such as Windows XP, or Vista, then we'd recommend you have a look at switching to the many superior (and FREE) Internet browsers available for download, such as FireFox, Safari, Google Chrome etc etc … They all work well and are much faster (and safer) then IE8.

In any event, we'd like to see if we can help those of you who are stuck with IE8, so we need your help to see if we can address the issues for you …

    Please go here:

Whats My User Agent? (click here)

You will see something that looks like this...

    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0

If you are using IE, please copy and paste the UserAgent as a post here in this thread.

We appreciate your feedback, which will enable us to help you take full advantage of the many new features that will be coming to the site in the next few years.

    Regards,
    Doug

Well I sent Doug a message about 87 a couple of days ago and now it seems to have vanished?? Think I was first to report this, finally first on something...LOL

Got a reply from Doug very soon the next day and tried to use a fix which went well 'till they asked for $29.95 and I figure my friend will do it for free using a different method of course.

I am as Luddite when it comes to computers, have no idea why they work just accept they do and scream for help when they don't. Thanks Doug for your work to help me.

I have a friend that will go thru my computer next time I see him and hopefully he will be able to figure out what happened.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

    Web Problems

    Badger,
My site is working ok now but I may have trouble again in the future.
I have Windows 7 Home premium and using IE 7 but I think I could go to IE 9. I checked and it said I could down load IE 9
I am just not very good on the computer and don't like change once I get used to a system, but will do if it will be better for using Milsurps.com as I think this is the best site of all.
I hope the below info. is what you wanted.
    Thanks
    Dick

I'm showing "Out of memory at line 87" again today. I heard on the news that I.E. upgrades (security fix) may be available from MS in a few days. - Bob
