    Unknown Holster

    Hi
Does any one have any idea of the country of origin and the type of pistol that would have original fitted this holster?
    Thanks Terry

Isn't that a Japaneseicon holster? For that ugly revolver? With no hammer spur? ??

I believe Jim is right. I think it's for the type 26 Japaneseicon revolver.

I'm not very good with the names of those. It's the snap fastener and the cross belt carrying method thet gives it away. No-one used closures like that, but the Japaneseicon. It would be a scarce holster for an even scarcer gun...

    Hi
I have found out that the holster is in fact Frenchicon and not Japaneseicon but both are very similar. But the French holster has no pocket for a cleaning rod and rings on the back of the French holster are flat at the top the Japanese are rounded D`s. The holster was called Etui Modèle Simplifié de 1916 (Simplified Holster Model of 1916) which were usually used for the Revolver d'Ordonnace Modèle 1892 and the Revolver Modèle 1892 'Espagnol' which were the Spanish Copies of the S&W M&P Revolver and Colt New Army Model Revolver. Thanks for your help especially Patrick for pointing me in the right direction.
