Markings (or lack there of) on Pattern 1914 sling swivels

    Hi there
Trying to locate some sling swivels for a couple of my P14 Winchesters that are being restored and wanted to know if I should expect to find a W mark on the actual swivel like there is on an Eddystone manufactured swivel? I understand that Model of 1917 Remington and Winchester sling swivels don't have makers marks on them, but wasn't sure if that was the case for Pattern 1914 swivels.
    Cheers,
    Kiwi

Sorry, I'm a relative newbie when it comes to these rifles. Are you saying that M1917 rifles should all have a makers mark on the sling swivels (and by sling swivel I mean the part that the sling goes through, not the base). My J.C. Harrison P-17 The American Enfield book shows that Remington and Winchester sling swivel (front and back) are unmarked. Would the Britishicon contract P14 rifles have required makers marks on the sling swivel, but perhaps that may not have been necessary for the M1917 rifles?

im not real sure about P14,s however, the swivle is marked E W or R on the flat top edge of the loop the screw goes through,
base is usually marked as well.
