I've got a correct spring on order from Bill Ricca. After I install that and know I have eliminated that variable, I'll see if functioning improves.

If not, I will work my way through your other suggestions. I don't have access to another trigger guard. I'll take a picture and post to see if the sites expert eyes see any obvious damage, bending, etc... To me, the trigger guard seems OK. The top, back extension of the mag well angles back some. That's the only thing that seem "bent" about it, but for all I know it is supposed to be that way.

The trigger guard seems to slide into the stock without needing any force, so my instinct is that inletting isn't the issue.

Thanks again for your responses and advice.

I have attached a picture of my trigger guard and follower. Does this help indentify any potential issue with these parts?

I resolved this issue. I had a correct spring and correct follower (per Bill Ricca). The problem is that the spring did not fit the follower correctly. The spring would not slide into the tabs on the follower far enough. So I had to grind the spring back an 1/8 or so. Now it feeds correctly. Maybe the variation of follower I had didn't work with the standard spring. Beats me, but I'm happy the A3 I've had for 15 years finally works.
