Help Identifying this belted Ammo
I recently pick this belted ammo up in a garage sale
and the best I can determine doing research is that
it is Russian
7.62x54r rimmed ammo.
The headstamp reads 188 over 83
I have been able to determine its from the
188 (Klimov/Novosibirsk) plant
I was wondering if anyone might know the type of
machine gun that would have used this belted ammo ?
Thanks for any help, it is appreciated ...

Those are not the correct links. Looks like M60 links.

Thanks Skip... To me it looked strange too, I was hoping someone would bring that up
least I know my eyes are deceiving me. I agree looks like possibly M60 links but why
Russian
ammo in it ? Unless someone had the link tool and just made this up. hmmmm

Don't need any special tool, just line them up and insert the cartridges.
