The AA indicates rebuild at Augusta Arsenal, probably post WWII. It is a mix of parts now with a replacement slide. I would put value at $800/900 here in the U.S.

thanks, and what slide is that? is it a post ww2 slide?
saying it's a mix of parts means those are not for a '44 a1?

It is a Colt slide made as a replacement, as indicated by the M1911A1 U.S. ARMY on the right side. The barrel is a High Standard, and Colt only used barrels manufactured by Colt.

The parts were totally interchangeable, so any part would theoretically fit any 1944 1911A1, but if it did not come from the manufacturer with those parts, it is a mix of parts done at rebuild.

I understand. I knew it was a rebuild for the AA marking.

Is the slide a post ww2?

Yes, that information was in my original post.

The slide dates between mid 1938 and mid 1943.
