DA (Chilean Navy) Ross M1910s in Aussie?

I wonder how many of the DA ( Directorado de Armada) Chilean Navy Ross Rifles there are in Australiaicon. I have one, with a Matching Bayonet (three digit number).

Reportedly, they were part of the On-board Arms Locker of the Former HMS Canadaicon ( a Chilean Cruiser taken over in 1914 in the Britishicon Shipyards, its complement of M1912 Steyr Mausers (7mm) given to Naval depots and Minesweepers for training and Mine sinking duties).
Eley/Kynoch even made Military Quality 7mm ammo for them ( ten round paper wrappers, marked "For Mines" etc. ( Normal British Military Cartridge Wrapper labelling)

AT war's end, the two (or three) "sequestered" Cruisers were then sent off to the Original Buyers (Chileicon) with a new complement of Ross M1910 rifles (Mark III) which had been supplied in 1916, when they were withdrawn from Canadian Service.

The Rifles and (DA Matched) Bayonets were kept in service till the Ships were scrapped in the 1960s; the rifles ended up in one of the US Surplus Importers, but before the 1968-86 GCAicon mandated "Importer marking" was required.

They are very good shooters ( even with an "L" chamber ( 1915-16 mod)...and I use normal Mark VII Ball ( Aussie 1950s), Yugoicon "Mark VIII" ( Boat tailed Ball) and Reloads using Yugo cases ( 1980s Berdan .217 primer) and either PPU projectiles ( "Mark 7" ) or recycled military Mark VII of various origins.

BTW, any Ross Aficionados out there...I know the Mark I and Mark II Ross rifles have a Left Hand Buttress type Barrel Thread, but what is the M1910 (Mark III) Thread...I know it is Whitworth Form, but is it RH or LH? .... I have a half-dozen Indian Army De-milled Ross Rifles I want to rebuild for Movie (Blank fire) Use.

    TIA, Regards,

    DA Prefix Ross Rifles

    Hi Doc

Quite a few DA rifles are in Australiaicon, I have DA 148 with matching bayonet.

I have a DA prefix survey going on the Ross Rifle Forum. Quite a few are located in Oz.

So far we have recorded a spread of DA19 to DA426.

    Regards

Weren't no cruiser, she was a "super dreadnought" and the last of her kind in the world when scrapped; which should never have happened.

Someone ought to start a spreadsheet on these rifles and bayos, the better to re-unite them.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

DA 69 rifle and bayonet resides in Alberta. Surpmil a list of rifles and bayonets already exists on this sub forum but it has not been updated for awhile.
