1935 Argentine Navy Colt Government Model

This Government Model is out of the largest group of pistols delivered to the Argentineicon Navy during the 1930's, being one of 600 in a 1935 order. A little more than 1000 were purchased in several small groups during this decade, plus another couple of orders around 1940 or so.

It appears that the slide stop has been replaced, but it is a pre-WWII mfg. variant.

More photos coming if Photobucket will cooperate.

Moved to a different computer- seems to have done the trick...

Here's a slightly different angle. Looks almost like completely different pistol!

Most of these pistols will have the crest, but it seems to depend on the group in which they were shipped.

JM, thanks, don't know why I love the ones that are roughed up ( not perfect) a bit. Mine can look like night and day depending on the light.
I guess it's like my jeeps. My 05 is taken care of has some mods and gets me to work. My 97 is jacked heavily modified and has been rolled and of course repaired. Guess which one I have more fun in? Just an analogy don't try this at home!

With these Argentineicon pistols, the pickings are slim, and the condition is almost never "collector grade" because the Argentines did not have the luxury of having unused crates of pistols in the back of the armory being hoarded by the QM... Granted, they also weren't storming beaches in WWII, either!
