    This guy is a crook

This is an open email to those of you thinking of buying vehicles from Poland or other stuff, rifles, clothes etc. Don't go near this guy. He ripped me off to the tune of $80,000 AUST.

    Sirs
I went through this guy from an advert on MILWEB in the UKicon. I originally asked for an OY 64 and a T 55 fully restored and transported to Tasmania. He agreed the he could do this. In the meantime it was decieded that an MTLB would be a better option as it can carry more people.
Som an order was placed with him and a contract made up and signed to provide two vehicles in good condition and restore any defects like gear boxes, track, tyres etc. Both the vehicles were to come complete wit radios ( working) soviet tank helmets so we could talk to each other. Sand blasted and repainted into a colour scheme of our choice. Also both the vehicles after completion were to be cleaned to AQIS (Aussie Quarantine) standards and a letter was sent as to how and what needed to be done. All this was agreed and a contract signed.
Things looked real rosey and numerous pics were sent of the vehicles he had selected for me. I will show you the pics, when you are given pictures of what you are buying you expect to recieve what they portray

    This is the MTLBu

This is the supposdly best vehicles he could find, on the truck to br restored!

    This is what we got......

By this photo you can see that all the equipment had gone, when confronted with this he said that the supplier "Moto-Demont" had removed it all, before he could say anything about leaving it in. Once again I bought these vehicles expecting them to be as in the photos but restored!
Anyway he starts to restore these vehicles and then the horror stories start emerging, when I bought the SKOT, I told him to get one with a near new gear box, the SKOT has a Wilson Pre Select box, when they are running and maintained they arre a beautiful gear box, something goes wrong! He was told to replace the box, the transfer casing, air compresor that controls the gear box, the clutch, all airlines etc.
To cut a long story short he did none of those things.
Before a vehicle can be imported into Australiaicon, it must be paid for and I have then to show the tossers in that particular department that I have indeed purchased this vehicle. So I have to pay for them up front, a sum of about $27,000 Aust. 76,000 Polish. Alot of their money. That was just for the vehicles, another 10,000 Polish or $3000 AUST was agreed to bring the vehicles into a show room condition. He guaranted it!
So half way through the restoration I get an email....hey you are going to need spare parts for these things and some deactivated 14,5mm KVPt and 7.62mm PKT, 77,000 Poolish or $27,000 AUST.
All is going well, though it has now been 6 months and we had been shown no photos, though we had been given a you tube clip of the vehicles going, the SKOT could barley move, obvious gear box problems and transmission, he was told by me to replace it straight away! I know a ferked up wilson box The MTLBu sounded nice and sweet, until he changed gears that grinded like a politicians promise. Once again he was told to fix it. He was also told that the vehicles were to serviced and start cleaning for AQIS.
By this time it was Christmas, he had the vehicles since JUne!
After numerous e mails requesting photos, I got these....

I will type more latter as I have things to do on my UAz

I have good friends in Poland and like all countries they are awash with crooks who are more than willing to take your money. I agree for that much money I would go there and to be honest the police are pretty decent from the ones I have met. You may have recourse but it will be a expensive and lengthy battle.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I live just around the corner from Poland (a country I like very much). But I think you took an unacceptable risk in your undertaking. A knowledgeable representative on the scene would almost certainly have been worth every penny spent. I wonder whether the local judiciary would be overly sympathetic to your endeavour to recoup your losses.

WE ain't heard from Sabre69 since then (or have we........?) but sometimes you can't help but feel that splashing 80,000 up front for an ex Army APC is a bit, well............. Others might have a better choice of phrase but I'd prefer to use the term '........foolhardy'
