    Enfield Eddystone 1917 Sporter Stock

    Hi everyone.
I just picked up my new (very old) enfield eddystone 1917 sporterized.
The stock needs to be replaced. I've been looking online to find a new one but it appear that the sporter stock that came with my rifle is different from the regular sporter stocks.
My rifle stock does not have a magazine floor plate and the trigger guard has no mag floor plate hole.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea why it is like this and if you guys know where can I find this type of stock without the mag floor plate hole.

Your rifle looks like mine. On mine the trigger guard is an original '17 guard that was cut up and a new hole drilled that uses a wood screw in front of the trigger bow. These were simple sporter jobs back in the days of cheap milsurps. I bought my rifle over 30 yrs ago like it is. I've been thinking about upgrading my stock in the future to dress the old girl up. I just can't deside if I want to change to a style with a full trigger guard or not. What is wrong with you current stock? I been looking at Richards Microfit Stocks Inc. They have a large selection and discounted seconds and many styles.
The only drawback to replacing my stock is that the rifle shoots very well in the old one.

    Thanks for answering.
The stock seems to be very old and has many signs of wear and age. The Butt pad's screws are striped and I'm not able to remove them.
Thats why I'm trying to find out what kind of stock I need to replace the old.
Also, do you know which part do I need to get to install a stock made for Enfield Rifleicon?
I know I need to get the trigger guard and the magazine floor plate, but is there something else that i might be missing?
I guess I just want to make this rifle look good.
There is no rust on the barrel or on any component of the gun. Its just the stock that is not good looking.
    Thanks

You will probably also need a magazine box as it is most likely cut down or may have been replaced with a bent sheet metal box or n box at all.

Do you know where can I find a stock similar to this one?
I just don't want to spend in all the missing parts plus the stock.
To be honest with you a paid a couple of hundred dollars and I don't think is worth spending too much in the rifle.
    Thanks

Boyd's does have a few 2nds. You will indeed need an entire TG assembly, to include the magazine box. Try Springfield Sporters for parts.

Try looking at the website I listed in my previouse post. They list stocks for all kinds of actions. Send them an email or call them to see if they can cut a stock and not inlet it for the trigger guard. I would think that any of the larger stock builders will carry stocks for an enfield. On your old stock, cut the butt pad away to give you access to the srews and grip them with pliers and pull them out. Then plug the holes with glue and pieces of dowel and you're ready to install a new pad. For the stock, try refinishing it. You might get a look you will like. For dings you can try steaming them out with a wet cloth and an iron. Refinishing the old one will save some green.

Ijust remembered, If you replace the stock and decide to install a triggerguard you will need to decide if you want the original style with the offset at the front or a modified flattened style
that gives a sportier look. If you buy a guard make sure it is complete with the latch and spring.

Now I have another problem, hahaha.
I cutted to butt pad and i was able to remove the screws following your instructions but to my luck I'm not finding a butt pad with the matching measurements.
I think im gonna get a generic sleeve one.
I'm also going to refinish the stock, what would you recommend for coating?
    Thanks
