    L42a1 Style Rifles- AUSTRALIA

    Hi guys,

I am going to put together some L42a1 style rifles.

I have the bones of the builds in hand and am starting more or less immediately. They will be based on various makes of Proofed for 7.62 NATO No4 actions, fitted with correctly profiled TSE barrels chambered in 308 Win with 1:13" twist barrels to suit 155gn palma type projectiles.

They will be fully refinished, and marked clearly as"T-BONE REPRO MM/YYYY" on the body and the wood work. My objective is to produce rifles looking and feeling very similar to the original article for the purpose of target rifle or recreational shooting, in as close to new/FTR condition as possible so far as the components onhand allow. They will be properly bedded in timber, the mags will feed reliably, triggers will meet service standard, barrels will be shot in, and they will be tested for accuracy. They will not be sold if they are in any way defective.

As far as optics go I will likely fit reproduction No32 telescopes.

If anyone is interested in pre ordering one of these (and I'm talking about an honest commitment here not $$ deposits), I can build it to your requirements ie long or short butt, cheek piece fitment, use your optics, I could even use your parts if you have stashed some, transit chests would be no problem either. Otherwise they will be advertised on http://www.usedguns.com.au . Export, while an expensive proposition, is not a problem from my end.

These builds will be posted in The Restorers Corner, or Gunsmithing for old Milsurps, if your interested in looking on over the next couple of months.

    Cheers

    Tom
