Anything I need to know about my K31 ?

    I just purchased a WW II era { 1944 } K31 with a very good bore {.752 } 75% finish, and walnut wood .
Is there ANYTHING I need to look for with a Swissicon K31 of this vintage before shooting it ?
As always, I will have my local " smithy " check it out before hand .

You probably know more about it than your local smithy so just a word of caution on that.

Not a whole lot of problems with these other than what was posted above. One batch of bad rods.

Open the butt plate. The last soldier the rifle was issued to put his name, rank, unit, and home address in it. My K-31 had the information and courtesy of Swissicon phone books on-line, I found the soldier my K-31 was issued to in 1947. He was still alive and I mailed him a 100yd target I put a nice five shot group into.

Still hoping to hear from him. I sent it to him before Christmas, perhaps the mail is slow.

Just got my K31 in today, she does have a "troop tag " and am trying to figure it out . Managed to get a little of it, but some numbers/words are not showing up on the Swissicon rifles website "decipher" page .

Roofus, when you post these same questions all over the place, get answers and then ask the same things over again, same responses all over again it makes some of us wonder why we're wasting our time.

Sorry, not wasting any ones time, including MINE !
Just looking for other peoples opinions who might NOT attend other forums. I'm sure this isn't the first time a newbie like myself has inquired about info on more than one forum !
PS : Many times I just get very vague replies ,at best ,on these sites !!
