I went with the 90L rifles because they are often un-molested and usually numbers matching. Seems like many of them did not get a lot of use in service, so were not subject to the normal changing of parts or FTRs like the earlier snipers. As a well defined group of rifles it is possible to see if there were consistencies and anomalies in the production, and as well the list could (and I have since learned has) be used to try and match up rifles with wayward scopes.

Yes, there should be lists for all the LB batches of sniper rifles. Perhaps start a thread on each. But I gotta tell you it is a bit of work pouring over the various sources to make up the initial list. Once done though, maintenance and updating is fairly easy.

Thanks...got a PM about it too.

That makes around 80 out of 350-375 (?) made that are recorded just here. I know of others out there with owners who do not wish to share their information. Seems like a very high survival rate on this batch of rifles. Anyone want to bet that there are likely 200-250 survivors, if not more? Yet still, they seem to be the Cadillac of the No4 (T)s, and command a good premium.

    Intersting, and some conflicting information.

Jawes has this scope incorrectly paired with another rifle (90L8115). However, Peter Laidlericon noted that scope in service with the bracket for 90L8212.

So which was more likely to have been traded, the scope in a bracket, or the buttstock? Could go either way.

Anyway, this leaves you the opportunity to come up with a REL mk3 scope from somewhere, work out a trade deal with Jawes, and re-unite the scope to your rifle, although the bracket may not match.

Kind of a shame....all the numbers were working out up til now.

I have added yours to the list.
