A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I an effort to further educate myself regarding this rifle system, would the L17a1 scope be appropriate on this rifle? My understanding is that they switched to the S&B 5-25x56 for the L115a3 variant. Is there a "L" designation for the S&B 5-25x56? Thank you in advance for any info!

Someone help me on this, my 99 dated rifle had a non-flutted barrel originally. It was changed to a flutted one in 2010. When was the transition? Just curious.
    Thank you,

    Some info

UK Armed Forces Commentary: The Infantry of Army 2020: Lethality

The L115A2 followed, and introduced several improvements, such as Tan colored body, Harris bipod, fluted barrel and suppressor. It was effectively a prototype for the further enhanced L115A3.***

L115A2 rifles are similar enough to the final A3 configuration that they*were converted*to A3 standard, but the legacy L115A1 LRR (Long Range Rifle) was not modified.

This rifle did in fact stay in the states. I will attempt to find the pictures from GB. Are there any specific pictures you are looking for?

Good to know that it stayed here... I would just like to see any pictures to keep an idea of where the 6 or 7 are. I think I can account for 5 of them. One of them for sure

It couldn't be legally exported unless going to a police or military unit under the current rules.
