Bag o' vintage 7.92 (8mm)

Found this bag of vintage 7.92 at an antique store a little while back. Paid $8. Top rounds are machine gun ammo I believe, with the headstamp avu St* 11 45. Bottom rounds are pre war, headstamp is P154 S* 14 35. Fifty four rounds total. Worth anything?

Generally, no. But what with the ammo madness lately, mabye a little? Have given away stuff like that before, and had a hard time finding takers!

Those wartime steel cases tend to rot out from within. Not great to shoot, even worse to sell.

The primers could be questionable too. I just stripped about 100 30-40 rds that are 100 years old in some cases. Others much younger, like 1931...primers would all be questionable and powder not so reliable. Some cases showed signs of the chemical changes inside and had deterioration right through the walls...

IMOH junk the stuff, unless it has a collector value. In which case, sell/give it to a collector.

Agree , those steel bullets are crap, i tried just a few once , misfires,hangfires,and when they did fire could not hit a barn with them at 100, keep em in a box as part of your ww2 collection , forget firing them, i have a few boxes of german WW2 as well , they just sit in safe next to the rifles on strippers. They have same bullets, i wont fire them in my beloved mil-surps ever again. on shooting that ammo.JMHO

Definitely wasn't going to shoot it, as I didn't know if it was somewhat valuable or not. Might take it to the arms show tomorrow, see if anyone bites.
Or might just display it.

The steel will lose its gripping strength. The base of the bullets will rust. Do not shoot.
