New Member...New K31, with Pictures :-) ....also, book recommendations?

Proud new owner of my first K31. Not sure why it took me till I was in my 60's to get into C&R....but, real happy with my first purchase in this arena SEE PICTURES.

Can you good folks recommend your go-to books on Swissicon rifle collecting and identification. It could save me lots of time and money on Amazon book purchases. Thanks in advance !!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Welcome to the board. You may want to also go look at joining the Swissicon Rifle Forum. I believe it has the most information available for the Swiss Rifles. I'm fairly new to both of these boards in the last few months. I've had a few military rifles for years, but recently got into more of the C&R Rifles. I bought my first K31 a few months ago and I've been negotiating on another one already. There are several members, such as Guisan and Latigo that can direct you towards other information. I recommend you start with reading the forums.

Here is link for the Swiss Rifle Forum. The Swiss Rifles Message Board Forums

    Best Regards, Ubet

Ubet....Thanks. I guess you know how it feels to be a newbie. We are reading, doing searchs...etc, but, it's always better to have someone show you where the targets are at :-)) I'll check out the Swissicon Rifle Forum. I got fairly lucky on my purchase of the K31. It's a nice one! Have not gone to range yet (picked it up Friday from my FFL gunsmith)....still in the touchy-feely stage. I need to read-up on lightly cleaning the rifle. Every time I handle the rifle, I feel something special from a gun that was made 71 years ago. I like vintage neat mechanical items from our PAST :-)
