    my 1911 long rifle...couple ?'s

Hi all... I have a 1911 serial number 4558xx which dates it as 1917.
It has 2 "P" stamps on it with no date under either one. One is on receiver and one on barrel. All other 1911 I have seen have only 1 "P" with a date. Does this happen to mean anything?

Question 2.... where can I get a taller front sight? I am getting too old to deal with guessing how low to hold at 100 yards

    Thanks

P is supposed to mean private sale. Not all of them have dates. Not sure why there would be two.

You could add a bead of epoxy to the top of the sight. It will come off easy enough and keep the rifle original.

Thanks for the tip...I wouldn't have thought to use epoxy
