    National Ordinance 03-A3 Sporter

Can anyone tell me anything about a National Ordinance receiver. Are they any good? Not worth the money? Any info would be appreciated.

Until a few years ago, they were considered to be decent shooters, although particularly worth anything. In the last few years, there has been some evidence that they may actually pose a danger to shoot. I believe this site has a "sticky" posted by Chuckindenver, which contains some graphic evidence of their weakness.

Thanks Rick that's why I ask you guys. At $400 even with approx. 100 rounds of ammo I think I'll pass.

If anyone has a good looking one for $250 or so , i'd might snag it . I'd only put a 1,000 or so rds a year through it , though .

Before Chuck has a coronary , I do have a couple of Numrich .22 kits where the reciever ills would not be a problem.

Bought one for the usgi parts to use to rebuild a re-activated drill receiver for vintage matches. Pulled it out yesterday evening to practice for upcoming event. First 3 shots at 100 yds. Was not able to keep all 20 shots that tight - but that's me - not the rifle.

Which is why it would only be used for .22LR .
