    Index marks

Had my T apart for its twice yearly dunking in RLO and did not realise they used index marks like the '03's, was this standard for all 303's or just on T's.
Also I was pleased that it still has the original barrel in it but this could be normal for a T I suppose given their role.

Just checked a spare No.4 receiver I have and it has no index marking anyway the Q's there.
    TIA

It just seem as though a good proportion of T's HAVE index marks and I have to confess that I never took any notice of this simply because an index mark have no place in breeching up. Certainly not at factory or REME workshop level It's telling that H&H didn't unbreech rifles as their whole set-up was geared around fitting a BRACKET (that already held an already centred and collimated telescope) to an already certified accurate rifle.

Nope......, don't even suggest it! If H&H have to remove the barrel and replace it for some reason, then it fails to be a certified accurate rifle! And their timed wrk schedule for payment programme didn't allow for any extra work.

On the contrary Cinders........ The mark is totally redundant and serves no purpose whatsoever!

Does your barrel also have the rifles serial number stamped on it? I was wondering if all the T 's have this?

    Hi Peter,
Sorry I was alluding to when it went to the H & H factory for fitting up, just a bit of a lark comment! I am the type who pulls things to bits and for some reason always ends up with a spare bit who's location is invariably in the middle of the item taken apart..........

Yes corco the barrel is serialed to the weapon.
