    Plane part

My Dad gave me this piece which he claims is from a Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk. Is there any way I can find out for sure or get it authenticated?
Also does it have some value?

    Friend, I am being serious!!
Keep it as a family heirloom, If it is a piece of the only F117 shot down. The technology was compromised and spread to the four winds. At onetime that little piece would have made you father a rich man but then again you guys had the whole plane, minus the pilot of course.

In that case sorry I misinterpreted your first comment

Yes its a piece of one (and only xD) shot down (99')...
I'm not so much into "modern warfare" artifacts, thats why I wanted to find a collector who is going to appreciate this piece as it should be...
And thats how I ended up here wanting to see possible range of prices...

How are we supposed to be serious when you give us a dark little picture of some un-identifiable something? The best you can hope for is no answer at all. Then you chastise? Good luck identifying it.
    Regards, Jim

Well I came here with information I have...
    What are you expecting...
I can have it authenticated at our Airforce Museum but I'm not sure how much is that valid internationally...so I was seeking advice...
    But thank you nonetheless...

As I understand some parts of that aircraft are still under classified information so I dont expect to get that kind from them directly...
