    Unknown stamp on bren tripod

Hoping somebody may be able to help, I have just received a mk1 tripod with aa leg and original butt handle clips, where the serial number is is a HS stamp with a broad arrow between the letters and a circle around it.
The tripod was made by A.G.E. In Australiaicon in 1941.
Does anybody have any idea what the HS stamp could mean?
I apologise for lack of photos but unfortunately I can't seem to upload them!
    Many thanks

Interesting as that's exactly where my HS logo is, for my future reference what does the EWS logo stand for?
    Many thanks!
