New to me 1903
I picked up a new 03 as a shooter this weekend. I was told the original owner used it in competitions 50 or 60 years ago then put it in his gun cabinet and it sat there till a few months ago. From what I can tell it’s a Rock Island 1918 receiver a Rock Island January 1919 dated barrel and a Remington bolt. The stock has very faint cartouches but one looks like the cross cannons and the other might be RLB. I just wanted to ask the 03 experts out there if there was anything else they could tell me about it.

RIA's with correct and original barrels are hard to hind. But this one has been drilled and tapped, that hurts collector value. Looks like a nice shooter, keep it as is.

If the stock hadn't been cut for that Lyman rear sight, I'd be asking you about a sale/trade for it. I need a grasping groove RLB stock!
