Frank, how can you say that? I know, everyone is different. I think they are one of the nicest looking WW2 weapons around. Wish I had more. In original stocks that is.

I have a sad story that runs along that line...I had a woman here for a few years that liked the carbine. I built one that had an Italian repro stock and was very nice. It had a Winchester receiver, second serial block...she tried it and decided she no longer like them...and had me put the solid stock on. Had to sell the other. Later the receiver broke along the top left side of the bolt track. Couldn't be salvaged. Later she left me so I don't have either now...and I really miss that little carbine...

That story brought tears to my eyes.....hate to see anyone loose a carbine!
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Thanks for your heartfelt sorry guys. As we've found, women come and go. Some faster than others...but a real nice carbine can be a once in a lifetime pairing...

got my stock from Sarco today. apparently there's a reason they're cheaper now, they're made in taiwan. the metal seems cheap and flimsy and as others have noted, the butt doesn't lock up very well. they were advertised as a "perfect and exact reproduction of the WWII M1A1 paratrooper stock. This is absolutely the best quality reproduction available." of course it is not.
does anyone here have experience with the Numrich/Gunparts version? when i spoke with them they said they buy out the wood but build the assemblies in house from there own components.
i wonder if they're any nicer.

will post full picture in a day or so when I get the chance.
Wonder if Sarco is getting the stocks from somewhere else now, mine is a couple of years old.
