    Smith Corona

Hi all, this is my first post here, I have a Smith Corona 1903A3 that has a proper parkerized butt plate but the screws are blued. Is this correct or should the screws be parked also?

Jim, I read that thread before, no help as the Remingtons and Smith Coronas used different blued and parked parts. Thanks again

Screws should be blued. Butt plate could be blued or parked.

Thanks for the reply, so it is correct to have a parked butt plate and blued butt plate screws?

I can not get over how odd blued butt plate screws look on a parked butt plate.

Having such a mix finishes on military firearms is not at all unusual. As you probably know, original 03A3s had a mix of blue and parkerized parts from day one. Late in the war, many K98ks had such a mix as did VIS 35 Radom pistols. My late war Sauer built LSR sniper also has blued screws in the butt plate. Looks great to my eyes, especially considering that is correct and original.
