Carry handle only for Parker Hale Bren training device

So another member has a carry handle made by PH in WWII as part of a training device for Brens. It was designed to be paired with a fake bipod, and the set would attach to a Lee Enfield to approximate the weight of a Bren for training. I'd like to get it from him, and he'd like to sell it, but neither of us has any idea what it's worth. Collector's Source in Canadaicon here has a complete set (carry handle and bipod) for sale for $1500, which strikes me as insanely high and since they've had it for sale for a year at least, obviously everyone else is struck the same way.

Please don't tell me about how lots were melted down for scrap at the War's end, or other depressing stories. Any sense of what this would be worth would be helpful. Again, this is just for the carry handle which clamps on, not the bipod as well.

    Thx

    Ed

Tell him to put it on that auction site and bid for it. That is the TRUE commercial value of an item. If it goes beyond what you thyink it's worth, you stop bidding.

These things were never an issue item but purchased locally, pre-war for training the Militia and Territorials in the use of the new section tactics due with the soon to be introduced Bren gun.

    Ed,
I suppose in my attempt to try and further your purchase speedily without to much unecessary trauma as someone who knows a bit about PH equipment, is to offer him what you feel they are worth to you as a collector of such "unique" military items.
Because they are items that very rarely come up for sale, in my book, for what they are, and if I as a collector wanted them that much, I would offer no more than perhaps $400-500 dollars.
That should do it and is a fair price for what were several dollars when produce 70+ years ago.
    Hope that helps

I picked up the full set of bipod and handle off ebay for around $500 some years back. So just the handle itself should be half that at best in my opinion. They seem to surface somewhat regularly.

Talked to collectors source at the time and they did sell at least one set for that price....they had more than one.

Saw a set go last week, with the rifle, for $850 USD. So 4-5 bills is about right.
