A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). "Binary" Albanian SKS

One of a few SKS variants that I find interesting. Finally got a decent one (have seen three altogether, ever!) but even though it was the "less pretty" of the two available recently at a local shop, the serial number is all zeroes and ones! Seemed the "more honest" of the two, anyway.:

    Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year to everyone!

Well I can finally be happy about solving a small problem with my VZ2008 (VZ58 Clone)! Apparently a split spring magazine securing pin was not installed when my Century VZ2008 was assembled. What caused me to take notice of it was the mag catch pivot pin was backing out ever so slightly (see example picture) during use and firing by small amounts, I kept pushing it back in with finger pressure. It is suppose to be secured by a split spring pin (see picture) with a small lip that sits in a recess inside the receiver just below the bolt. There is a scallop on the mag pin which the split pin secures it in the hole. I kept wondering why it was doing that until I researched replacing the mag pivot pin, thinking there was something wrong with it, then I figured out what was going on from some descriptions about it online. Not too bad for the original Czechicon split pin at $10.00 with shipping. Now I can feel better about going to the range and not feel like I got a lemon, this is a nice shooter by Century!

Another New Years purchase was the S&W MP15 Sport, it has not been to the range yet, with some extra PMags, it only came with one! Got 10% off when I purchased it, two weeks ago! Not a bad way to start the new year! It is comparable in length with the VZ2008 pictured with it. Now to figure out how I want to scope it out. There are plenty of positive Youtube reviews and articles online on this version of the AR15. You will notice that it has no forward assist or dust cover, this one has the 1/9 standard rifling. Not the 1/8 5R rifling of the prior 2012 models had, as they say specifications are subject to change? Definitely a rifle to work with to figure out if I would like something more definitive later…..
