A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. It's an early stock, not a pot belly...don't know if it's real though.

Now you are teasing us. You commented on an LA stock back in Sept 2012.

Hmm, super long barrel channel with type two and/or band marks on it makes it pretty fake in my book. The LA marking was pretty early in production and not used that much.

I was thinking maybe a "replacement" stock, but guess anyone could have applied rack numbers to the grip. The milling pattern at the back below the recoil shelf area may be a clue?? - Bob

The only L-A stocks that I've ever seen were I-cuts!
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
