    Question Is my Ithaca legit?

Bought this last week off a member of the S&W forum. His ad stated "Correct HS barrel, correct grips & correct (L) magazine. Original finish with limited honest wear. Shipped July, 1945 to Read Valley, N.J. Transportation Officer, Belle Meade ASF Depot."

Would like an honest opinion of it's true value, and what to look for as far as non-factory or modded parts and finishes.

    Thanks!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Thanks! I'm a relative "newb" to collector arms, but now have this and a 1945 Inland carbine (both older than me) plus a S&W 1955 .45ACP made in late '55 that's a couple years my junior. I'd been looking for a WWI GI issue, but they're either beat to h%ll or "refinished", then this came along...

The pictures are not adequate to say for sure, or to say every part is OK, but it looks pretty good from what can be seen.

I gave $1975 for it, been looking for awhile and could not find any other pre-WWII USGI issues with a decent finish in my $$$ comfort zone...
