    bubba'd SKS barrel

I just got a Romanian SKS that Bubba had ahold of. The barrel was cut to 16 1/2 inches Threaded with a left hand thread, and a flash hider installed. Its so crooked that the bullet would hit the one prong on the flash hider. Does anyone know a source I could get a barrel from? Are they threaded or pressed in? And. Is it worth fixing or should I part it out? It's in a folding stock but,The rifle is in otherwise great shape.

I would be interested in the FCG if you part it out.

Curious as to what you consider cheap. I think they are running $400 in the US these days. Import restrictions and all.

Not here in Canadaicon. We have lots here. Still, it's not much of a piece to be trying to rebuild. Here's an example of a brand new one pilfered from a local sales site... Used ones are cheaper.

Matter of fact here's one even cheaper from a dealer...private deals are even cheaper.

Nice. I've heard SVT's are very reasonable as well while here they are about $1200 now.

I think they can be had at about $400 or a bit less...the ones I saw had scopes and were as new. Again, pilfered ad from local...

And the cat! Kind of like .22 long rifle and 7.62X39mm ammo. It is plentiful and cheap in Canadaicon. Can it be sent down here? Ah, no!

I thought Canadians were are friends

Well to be fair we are paying 40$ a brick of .22 now thanks to you guys.

Yes we may have cheaper Russianicon and Chinese surplus at the moment but it will run out. Overall your gun market is significantly better than ours will ever be. Much more supply, more variety (can't own a full auto or converted auto in Canadaicon anymore), cheaper in general prices, cheaper ammo in general. You also don't have to ask to take your pistols to the range (and no chance of shooting it in the woods). You don't have magazine restrictions of 5rds for semi-auto rifles and 10rds for pistols, and you don't have firearms arbitrarily declared prohibited because someone doesn't like how it looks (for example a FN-FAL cannot be legally acquired just because it is a FN-FAL).

Overall you guys have a much larger advantage in terms of what you can and can't own, and costs so please don't complain to me about cheap Russian and Chinese surplus, I would gladly trade that in a second. Just my 2 cents.
