    I had always wondered at how the Rangers managed to get from the ropes/ ladders to the Germanicon trenches that day . Just did not seem to be any way in my mind they could have made it . K guns on the upper ladder segment gives the answer . Being in .303 , with no spare ammo , leaving them there was reasonable and explains the lack of them in pictures later .
